With Smoothies and Juicing becoming more of a staple in our daily lives it’s important to know which fruits and veggies are in season.

All produce tastes best during the part of the year when it naturally ripens. Strawberries are sweeter when sun-kissed in the summer, and some squashes don’t get full and flavorful until the fall. Not only does food taste better in season, it often has a higher nutrient content too. And if that wasn’t enough, fruits and vegetables are usually more affordable when they are naturally in abundance. Eating seasonally is better for your body, tastier on your tongue, and lighter on your wallet!

Doesn't it just make you want to picnic or go to the beach this weekend. 

Most of the stylists at Panache & Co Salon have a favorite recipe that they have shared with their team members and maybe some of our clients. I think we should have a smoothie/juice off at the salon in June. The stylist with the tastiest recipe will win a Whole Foods $50.00 Gift Card. Diamond Shape Face Shapes Like Shailene Woodley's

A great example of a diamond shaped facial shape is Kortney Kardasian. Kortney has narrowness at her forehead and a strong jaw line that pops out at the bottom of her ears; this is part of the characteristics of a Diamond Shape Face. How do you style your hair if you have a diamond facial shape; Layers are a great starting point, any shape that has a bit of width from the corner of your eyes would be a great choice. Some width at the start of your chin is another volume area; do you see where I’m going with this? Fighting Humidity with S Factor Smoothing Shampoo

Romantic Notions: Wedding Inspirations and Makeup

With the San Diego Bridal Bazaar coming up on Jan, 26^th @ the Convention Center and Valentines day around the corner I thought we would do a Monday Wedding Inspiration Mood board.

Now I'm already married but I'm still a mushy romantic and love a great celebration. I love to create fantasy wedding boards because it encourages me to remember all the good things about relationships, not just with my husband but relationships with friends and family too.

One of my favorite Panache Stylist is Sabrina Mangiavillano, she’s a very talented stylist with a gift for makeup application. She uses the Dinar Airbrush system for makeup applications that are flawless. I think for any event this is the way to go. It’s a longer wear makeup technique, which means you shouldn't look tragic by the end of your event.

I've sat and watched Sabrina as she wields the airbrush gun and am thoroughly amazed at this process. You really need to understand the principles of color and how shading affects the overall look. I guess that’s why she is one of Panache Master Colorists, she get’s it.

How to Make My Keratin Treatment Last

How Can I make my keratin treatment last?

Be sure to use a shampoo with no sulfates. Sulfates are a lathering agent that swells the surface of the hair to lift the dirt and oil away from the scalp and hair.

We have a few options here:

• Keratin Color Care Shampoo: this is a great product that extends the vibrancy of your color. It has a bit of Keratin mixed with soy and wheat proteins that give your hair the protection it needs.

I would alternate this with

• Mastey Traite sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo. Why you ask- in order for your hair to be its healthiest, a balance of moisture and proteins must be present.

Mastey Traite is so gentle you can use all over your body and it will leave you feeling soft and it combats dry scalp. Wow!

Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Hair care,

It’s the product of choice for those of you that have tragically dried out, frizz prone hair. The ingredients sound like a comfy winter meal and the smell is sweet, warm sugar cookies; at least that’s what comes to my mind. Now Appearing @Sak's Fifth Ave. Dolce & Gabbana's Emerald Classic Lipstick

Dolce and Gabbana released this beautiful emerald green into their Classic Cream Lipsticks collection. Now this is not a color that just any ordinary human can wear, this emerald is for only the bravest of the fashion mavens in the world of rouge style. I could definitely see Vivienne Westwood or Pam Hogg wearing this jeweled tone beauty, hell I’m going to try it (in a subtler application of course).

Dolce & Gabbana use of opulence in their collections is a given, so should we be surprised or even shocked? I say no. I love that they’ve taken an old punk color and given it a renewed life. Pushing the boundaries of our imaginations and comfort levels are the only way we remain young at heart. Each shape takes in excess of 3 plus hours to construct (and I thought I had patience when it took me 45mins to do my hair for our costume party).

How to Hair at Alon Livne MBFW Spring 2014 and Paris Hilton

Nick Irwin, Tigi Global Director, gave this show the perfect blend of urban by using a masterful sectioning pattern of braids. The C curves gave the look a chic soft look you could easily where with a party dress or with the heat of the city will be a definite go to look to combat  frizz. It's the new version of Bo Derek in 10

The How to

• Using Fast Fixx Style Prep (this has been a long time favorite and core product
  for TIGI®). Great product for eliminating frizzes -pre styling.
• 5 sections were taken, the 1^st was 4 fingers wide on the top and sectioned to the back (note all sections use the curve of the head. This is key to the softness of the look).
• Key to the structural look is the next sections on either side of your head. Use the corner of the top outside plait and section in a C curve to the corner of the back braid. On each braid clear elastic was used.
• To give the hair a high gloss TIGI® Weightless Shine Spray from the Catwalk® by TIGI was used. This is a wonderful product, it adds a thermal protection and tames the frizz. 
• One eliminate used to accent the sectioning on the braids was TIGI Cosmetics duo in Feisty, the white shimmer side was applied with great care by the TIGI Creative Team.

• The final finish was done by @MrNickIrwin on all the models; you won't have his hands to finish your look, but here is how he did the bun. Gentle twist all the braids together into bun and secure with a large bobby pin.
