Juicing Your Way to Health Hair, Skin and Nails

With Smoothies and Juicing becoming more of a staple in our daily lives it’s important to know which fruits and veggies are in season.

A great link for you to try this weekend is Ripetrack.com.
This is from the cover page of the website.

All produce tastes best during the part of the year when it naturally ripens. Strawberries are sweeter when sun-kissed in the summer, and some squashes don’t get full and flavorful until the fall. Not only does food taste better in season, it often has a higher nutrient content too. And if that wasn’t enough, fruits and vegetables are usually more affordable when they are naturally in abundance. Eating seasonally is better for your body, tastier on your tongue, and lighter on your wallet!

Doesn't it just make you want to picnic or go to the beach this weekend.

Most of the stylists at Panache & Co Salon have a favorite recipe that they have shared with their team members and maybe some of our clients. I think we should have a smoothie/juice off at the salon in June. The stylist with the tastiest recipe will win a Whole Foods $50.00 Gift Card. Don't you just love a good, healthy cook-off, Or in this instance a juice-off. In the mean time try out one of the yummy smoothie recipes above.

The other link we love is the Harvest Calendar of San Diego. If you're into local grown produce, this is the link for you. Download this for your trips to the Farmers Markets that are sprinkled throughout San Diego County.  Here are the Farmers Market’s and the days of business from the Harvest Site.
I can tell you from personal experience my skin and hair have never felt better. Look for my juice fast post at the end of July.

We hope you enjoyed this Fridays Links We Love series and hope you share this post with your friends and family and spread the love. Look for more fun post throughout the Panache & Co Salon Summer Season.

How to Make My Keratin Treatment Last

How Can I make my keratin treatment last?

edit BBSW

Be sure to use a shampoo with no sulfates. Sulfates are a lathering agent that swells the surface of the hair to lift the dirt and oil away from the scalp and hair.
We have a few options here:
  • Keratin Color Care Shampoo: this is a great product that extends the vibrancy of your color. It has a bit of Keratin mixed with soy and wheat proteins that give your hair the protection it needs.

I would alternate this with
  • Mastey Traite sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo. Why you ask- in order for your hair to be its healthiest, a balance of moisture and proteins must be present.
Mastey Traite is so gentle you can use all over your body and it will leave you feeling soft and it combats dry scalp. Wow!
KEY to this softness is a blend of Vitamin A, B5, C, lipids, rice proteins and minerals and
Note: this product contains no polyethoxylated detergents, sulfosuccinate, sarcosinated, glucolsides or polstyrenes, for all you nature lovers.

Be sure to use the conditioners for each of these lines and you should see your Keratin Complex Treatment last and look health.

Bonus Product: Infusion by Keratin Complex
  • This beauty repairs and revitalizes you hair during blow drying or ironing.
  • Please ask you stylist if this is right for your hair type.

I Know You Want It- Smooth, Soft and Shiny Hair

I know you want it -smooth, soft and shiny!

Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Hair care,
It’s the product of choice for those of you that have tragically dried out, frizz prone hair. The ingredients sound like a comfy winter meal and the smell is sweet, warm sugar cookies; at least that’s what comes to my mind. With Oat kernel extract, Wheat protein Sunflower seed oil and Honey as just a few of the key ingredients it’s no wonder this product is so creamy thick. Other ingredients are synthetic derivatives of green tea (to prevent bacteria) and lactic acid (milk) for scalp conditioning.

Most of us turn up the heat in the shower which robs our lock of the essential moisture needed to keep it shiny and frizz free. I know I’m not ready to temp down in the shower; maybe some of you are willing to go polar bear club style in order to bring out your glossy hair, if not -TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Trio is your answer to winter hair

Wedding Day Prep

I've had my big day and will cherish it forever. I do remember how I felt, everything had to be the way I had dreamt about; the dress, shoes, wedding location and THE HAIR. The hair had to be glossy, long with natural waves, thick and healthy looking.
Something like this:
via google

At the time I was using Lenore Greyl Jasmine Masque and I still do. Had Martha Stewart Weddings magazine been written the year I was married about L Oreal’s Fiberceutic Treatment, I would have used that. Oh then the recent issue of More Magazine mentioned the in-store treatment stating: We have our “fountain of oomph” It leaves the hair stronger and shinier with a velvet touch.

More Magazine
If you follow this blog you can see I’m seriously obsessed with beauty, beauty treatment and all things beautiful. Which is why after reading these two magazine reviews on Serie Expert Fiberceutic, I've decided to get the in-store treatment after my color.

L Oreal Professional

So the treatment is quite the RX experience. After a thorough cleansing my hair was then carefully towel dried to remove the excess moisture so it does not delude the potency of the treatment. A syringe was then used to apply to small, controlled sections of my hair. This was methodically worked down the hair, so as to penetrate into the cortex (inside) of the hair and insure the rebuild would take. On to the waiting, I was not great with the wait, however it was less painful because of the fantastic scalp massage that I was given! The Salon needs to give my husband a lesson on scalp massage.

If you haven’t noticed, I hate drying my own hair! So I always book my bombshell blowouts after treatments or color. It feels like the softest bunny fur ever, but it still has volume. As part of the complete treatment I bought the at home masque for fine hair to prolong the protection from further damage and the soft, volume I’m experiencing. My over all thoughts I Love It. You must try it! The in-store treatment was only $35.00; this did not include my color and bombshell blowout.
