Fighting Humidity with S Factor Smoothing Shampoo

We hear all the time about the nourishing power of Pro Vitamin B5, jojoba and avocado, not just for our body, but for the hair. With a multitude of products carrying these ingredients how do you choose the one that’s right for you?

Beauty by SW blog, Panache and co Salon, Pink

For our house we use S Factor Smoothing Products because I know that TIGI has taken great care in choosing the high quality ingredient that have created a power performance product that does what it says.
The control of frizzes was evident from the 1st use. The family loves the “Strawberries and Cream” scent, Little W said “it smells like sweetheart candy”. The rich creamy texture and the soft pink color only add to lush experience we got when we used TIGI S Factor Smoothing Line.

Beauty by SW blog, Beauty blogger

We picked up the Body Boost Volume Spray and will be giving that a go soon. So for those of you that love great shine, frizz control and a product that truly rehydrates your hair, S Factor is your game. If you flat iron or curl your hair try adding the Flat Iron Shine Spray and for the curls add in a pea size of the Dream Drops.

TIP: Add The Dream Drops to lightly towel dried hair before you swim, this trick has cut down on the chlorine absorption in our hair.

Here is a review from an S Factor Fan.

Hope you give this wonderful product a try and remember Panache guaranties all products are the original formulas from the manufactures. Now through March 30th it’s our Spring Forward Sale- Buy 2 TIGI Products and get 1 FREE!

*Free item must be of equal or lesser value to the lowest-priced item purchased. Excludes promotional pack and value kits. Brands cannot be combined.

Mad for it: Spa Day

Korean Spa: DIY

I’m on my way to Lucky Magazines Invite only Blogger conference in LA and I’m doing the pre game prep.
Step One: visit Julie Mcnamara at Dr Veccione’s on 2nd Ave. San Diego. 619 247-8419
She gives me a photofacial treatment to control my Rosacea.

Step Two:
I don’t have time to go the Korean Spa, (ask Kalani and Gina B. about the K.Spa experience) which I love, so it’s at home treatment for me.
Soak for 20 with Epson salts and lavender oil, then scrub with Jo Malone Vit E Scrub. I have my Trapp Lavender candle burning to help with the relaxation.

JoMalone Vit E Scrub is packed with natural ingredients like, soybean; organic brown sugar, wheat germ oil and avocado, these ingredients coupled with about 12 other, and helps to make the skin baby smooth. Bonus: it smells like sugar vanilla.

Step Three:
Use my at home facial steamer, then I apply the Dr Hauschka Rejuvenating Mask.
Dr. Haushcka Rejuvenating Mask: Has a fruit as one of its main ingredients, Quince seed. Quince seed hydrates dry skin, leaving the skin looking supple. I use the recommended amount and the treatment tube last 5 months.

Step four: Green Tea Latte from peace love an shea blog. Love IT! Thanks Shea

Better get started on phase one of the pre game prep..

Frizz free hair for Easter- How Do I Get That!

Frizz free hair for Easter- Sign Me Up!

I will be having a Red Carpet Blow Out with my favorite blowout artist, Carly. My hair has gotten frizzier as I age, mix that with a beach climate add (NO GOOD). Sabrina M, Head Chemical Director, denied the Coppola Blow Out Treatment (too much bleach) so the RBC is the answer for me.

Kate Beckinsale
Results:
The RCB keeps my hair smooth for 3-4 days. The whole process takes about 1hr. in salon, the length of my happiness- infinity. My personal blowout artist mixes the Magic Potion; I relax under the steamy machine with a good magazine and an ice cool bevy, and 15mins later its blowout time. We chat about why Keratin Coppola works.
·        It balances the PH of your hair
·        It is light weight and will help keep the volume in your hair
·        Bonus, your hair will look shiner

They are always great with result information, love it!

My cost breakdown: Treatment $15, Blowout $30.
I’ll be frizz free for Easter 2013

Happy Easter Everyone

Brow Dreaming

Most of the girls at Panache and co. Salon work with brows. The stand outs are Sabrina, Gina B and Carly. Each has a talent for getting the brow balanced just right for your facial shape. It's not so cookie cutter and that's why I love them.

This spring 2013 brow trends have blossomed. The looks are fuller, not the over twee-zed styles of the past. That hard look will make you look old!

via nypost

Some of us as we age have less brows to work with. If your one of the less fortunate like me I have to pencil in my brows using Tigi brow definer. Great product- it doesn't come off in humidity.

If you don't grow brows in some areas, there are a number of products on the market right now. I myself bought this Anastasia Brow Kit this weekend. I hope it works.

In the mean time one of my brow beauties at Panache and co. Salon, will clean the strays and make sure the brows are balanced. Have you made your Spring 2013 Make up Refresher appointment?

See you there

Keratin Blowout Reality

Frizz is upon me! I've cut my hair short and I seriously don’t remember it being this frizzy a few years ago. I like to let it air dry most of the time, I don’t mind wave but frizz is a NO, NO
Even with styling the moment I drive to work in Del Mar my hair freaks out. Ashley Simpsons hair is my dream (right now). Less messing around for goodness sake.

I know some of you out there have long hair and have these same issues. While I was trying to make my decision I came across this lovely ladies video post. She has hair like me but long. This sealed the deal for me.
Michelle from Redomestication.com, she answered a lot of my (after I get this done what happens)

I’ve decided to try the Keratin Complex Blow Out.  The full treatment will last 3-4 months. The wait after the in salon portion is 72 hours. No bends in the hair, moisture, ponytails, etc. Dry and flatiron ASAP if any of the aforementioned happen-

Less money/Less smoothing but good in a pinch is the Express Keratin Blowout.
If you just need a quickie that has a shorter duration: in salon time (1 hr vs. the few hours), waiting after in salon, (8 hr vs. 72), and length of time the results last (4-6 weeks vs. 3- 4 months)- try the Express Blowout.
This has less of the Keratin ingredients; this is why the results are more subtle. In other words the hairs wave pattern is less smoothed out.

Wish me luck

At the Office: Lips and Spring Fever

Lip Scrubs and DriesVan Noten

With the time change it brings a rush of spring fever over me. At the office I’m starting my spring renewal with my lips. Winter has ravaged my poor lips, always peeling, cracked and dry no matter what balm I use. My new weapon against dry lips LipScrubs! Good bye wash cloths and toothbrush, hello Brown Sugar. I came across t he Sara Happ website (fun) it has a section on Devotees- Celebrities like Rachel Zoe, Jennifer Garner and the ever fashionable Olivia PalermoShe is quoted as saying: I am card-carrying beauty junkie and magazine addict. Sara Happ has loved all things "lip" for as long as she can remember.
"I brought my curling iron, blow-dryer and Lip Smackers with me to Girl Scout camp. We slept in tents." She explains.
With Sara's help my Dries Van Noten Spring 2013 Fuchsia lips will be purr-fect.

At The Office: Game On Peeps

Panache Salon in San Diego, had the privilege of a cutting and Tigi Reborn Class taught by Michelle Rein, from Tigi Creative Team, Seattle.
Our models hair went from long hair to the cut on Dianna Argon of Glee. Cute right! The cut is called the Francesca, what a great name for such a frisky cut. The versatility of the cut is apparent as the above photos show. Whether you wear it classic or fun, your mood will dictate the choice

This all day class included hands on cutting, a demo and a refresher on our classic Reborn Treatment that has become the hot service in the salon.

If any of you Panache fans want this frisky, fun cut the team is ready for you.
See you soon and Happy Beauty Hunting

Today Show: Eco Nail Polishes

My passion is all things fashion and now living a less toxic lifestyle. Daily we are bombarded by cellphones, laptops, cars and self inflicted toxic behaviors.
After hearing my husband’s long conversation about his hate of nail polish and how he wouldn't let our child wear the toxic goop, I decided to find the holly grail of polish. Good news, it’s Scotch. Not the drink I love, but a totally vegan, biodegradable nail polish! The color selection is fantastic, see for yourself.

Watch this Today Show spot
Bonus: They have a Kids Polish line. My sweet baby girl loves polish like her mommy, the down side, at 6 she can’t keep her fingers out of the mouth. Well if she eats this off- not so scary. Hopscotch Kids is vegan, gluten free and biodegradable.
Now the girls of the house can have their fashion and eat it too! Eco Chic rules.

Mad for It: Reds

images tigi catwalk, tigi cometics, mac cosmetics, google
I occasional wear red lip stick. I absolutely love shades of vermilion, scarlet and crimson. Each has its own difference of hue. The color red to me doesn’t mean stop, it says elegance, classic and festive, and especially at this time of year. Having the right shade of red can transform your look. I’m  sure some of you have tried red in the past and have said it’s not for me. Note: over the years formulas have expanded greatly. The shade possibilities are endless.

Did you know-

Red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing and it's also associated as the color of love. Imagine wearing this on your lips--what signals are you sending? Bold is defined as “willing to break the rules”, so why not make a bold statement without saying a word.

It's a little diva, but you can handle that--it's those around you that might need a handbook on the new you
When Asked “why red”

Some explained away it's a cause and effect, while other simply said “wearing red finally allowed them to be the sexy woman they always knew existed” and right now, instead of questioning it or letting the skeptic in, you come out and play, why not experiment for yourself and let red take over? What do you have to loose?
