Fighting Humidity with S Factor Smoothing Shampoo

We hear all the time about the nourishing power of Pro Vitamin B5, jojoba and avocado, not just for our body, but for the hair. With a multitude of products carrying these ingredients how do you choose the one that’s right for you?

Beauty by SW blog, Panache and co Salon, Pink

For our house we use S Factor Smoothing Products because I know that TIGI has taken great care in choosing the high quality ingredient that have created a power performance product that does what it says.
The control of frizzes was evident from the 1st use. The family loves the “Strawberries and Cream” scent, Little W said “it smells like sweetheart candy”. The rich creamy texture and the soft pink color only add to lush experience we got when we used TIGI S Factor Smoothing Line.

Beauty by SW blog, Beauty blogger

We picked up the Body Boost Volume Spray and will be giving that a go soon. So for those of you that love great shine, frizz control and a product that truly rehydrates your hair, S Factor is your game. If you flat iron or curl your hair try adding the Flat Iron Shine Spray and for the curls add in a pea size of the Dream Drops.

TIP: Add The Dream Drops to lightly towel dried hair before you swim, this trick has cut down on the chlorine absorption in our hair.

Here is a review from an S Factor Fan.

Hope you give this wonderful product a try and remember Panache guaranties all products are the original formulas from the manufactures. Now through March 30th it’s our Spring Forward Sale- Buy 2 TIGI Products and get 1 FREE!

*Free item must be of equal or lesser value to the lowest-priced item purchased. Excludes promotional pack and value kits. Brands cannot be combined.

Romantic Notions: Wedding Inspirations and Makeup

With the San Diego Bridal Bazaar coming up on Jan, 26th @ the Convention Center and Valentines day around the corner I thought we would do a Monday Wedding Inspiration Mood board.

Now I'm already married but I'm still a mushy romantic and love a great celebration. I love to create fantasy wedding boards because it encourages me to remember all the good things about relationships, not just with my husband but relationships with friends and family too.
One of my favorite Panache Stylist is Sabrina Mangiavillano, she’s a very talented stylist with a gift for makeup application. She uses the Dinar Airbrush system for makeup applications that are flawless. I think for any event this is the way to go. It’s a longer wear makeup technique, which means you shouldn't look tragic by the end of your event.

I've sat and watched Sabrina as she wields the airbrush gun and am thoroughly amazed at this process. You really need to understand the principles of color and how shading affects the overall look. I guess that’s why she is one of Panache Master Colorists, she get’s it.

I know I will be attending the San Diego Bridal Bazaar Sunday January 26th and I'm hoping to talk some of the Panache & Co Stylist into coming with me. Inspiration is found in all things don’t you agree.

Brighter Blonde For A Dark Winter

Brighten your blonde for winter.
With the change into winter – well for some of us it’s freakishly hot now- but most blondes tend to go darker in winter, Strange but true. The fact is with it being darker outside wouldn’t you want to bring a little light into your life?

Why not ask the stylist in your life to amplify your hair by strategically dusting some brighter bits or adding a few perfectly positioned bright tones to add the dimension that will make your winter wardrobe pop!

Trending: Blue Accents for Spring 2013

via Harper Bazaar

Blue with all it’s hues is a color most people can wear. The cool of the blue sky, the depth of the ocean, the blue ice of the glaciers, all have been translated into this springs trends- BLUE!

A great way to use blue this season is blue eye shadows. Here are my currents product choices and then some

1)   Tigi eyeliners- They go on smooth and don’t pull on the skin. They stay on all day for me (I do set mine with loose powder).
2)    YSL Nail Polish- $25.00 a shot but worth it, I type all day and it last, my chip ratio is down! Thanks YSL.
3)   Tigi Quad Shadow- Last Call is the quad shown here. I use this product either wet or dry for a less intense look. You decide what you like or Have Sabrina Show you how to apply these products for your facial shape.

Right now through April 6,
buy any 2 TIGI cosmetic products and save $10.00

Brow Dreaming

Most of the girls at Panache and co. Salon work with brows. The stand outs are Sabrina, Gina B and Carly. Each has a talent for getting the brow balanced just right for your facial shape. It's not so cookie cutter and that's why I love them.

This spring 2013 brow trends have blossomed. The looks are fuller, not the over twee-zed styles of the past. That hard look will make you look old!

via nypost

Some of us as we age have less brows to work with. If your one of the less fortunate like me I have to pencil in my brows using Tigi brow definer. Great product- it doesn't come off in humidity.

If you don't grow brows in some areas, there are a number of products on the market right now. I myself bought this Anastasia Brow Kit this weekend. I hope it works.

In the mean time one of my brow beauties at Panache and co. Salon, will clean the strays and make sure the brows are balanced. Have you made your Spring 2013 Make up Refresher appointment?

See you there

Keratin Blowout Reality

Frizz is upon me! I've cut my hair short and I seriously don’t remember it being this frizzy a few years ago. I like to let it air dry most of the time, I don’t mind wave but frizz is a NO, NO
Even with styling the moment I drive to work in Del Mar my hair freaks out. Ashley Simpsons hair is my dream (right now). Less messing around for goodness sake.

Ashley Simpson

I know some of you out there have long hair and have these same issues. While I was trying to make my decision I came across this lovely ladies video post. She has hair like me but long. This sealed the deal for me.
Michelle from Redomestication.com, she answered a lot of my (after I get this done what happens)

I’ve decided to try the Keratin Complex Blow Out.  The full treatment will last 3-4 months. The wait after the in salon portion is 72 hours. No bends in the hair, moisture, ponytails, etc. Dry and flatiron ASAP if any of the aforementioned happen-

Less money/Less smoothing but good in a pinch is the Express Keratin Blowout.
If you just need a quickie that has a shorter duration: in salon time (1 hr vs. the few hours), waiting after in salon, (8 hr vs. 72), and length of time the results last (4-6 weeks vs. 3- 4 months)- try the Express Blowout.
This has less of the Keratin ingredients; this is why the results are more subtle. In other words the hairs wave pattern is less smoothed out.

Wish me luck

I have a dance to go to and I'm breaking out, how do I get rid of the problem?

Our in house experts at Panache

  1. Stress can bring on a rush of hormones that cause our skin to react with a breakout (Zit). My advise is to start with a neutral cleansing product Cetaphil , Target carries this product and it's  recommended by numerous dermatologist nation wide. It should balance the skins PH level.
  2. Next take a warm washcloth and apply it to the problem area for 7-10mins. This should move the bacteria to the surface.
  3.  After apply a neutral toner, Witch hazel has long been astringent used to reduce swelling. Bonus: witch hazel helps reduce sweating and has anti-oxidant properties.
  4. At night apply a product containing Benzoyl peroxide, Burts Bee makes a great natural solution for acne. I've tried this an love, just don't use the scrub right before your dance.
We hope this solves the problem in a few days. Don't pick it causes more trauma to the skin and you stand the chance of a larger breakout in the surrounding area

Have a great dance. I'm sure you'll look just as lovely as Ashley Greene

Till next time

Today Show: Eco Nail Polishes

My passion is all things fashion and now living a less toxic lifestyle. Daily we are bombarded by cellphones, laptops, cars and self inflicted toxic behaviors.
After hearing my husband’s long conversation about his hate of nail polish and how he wouldn't let our child wear the toxic goop, I decided to find the holly grail of polish. Good news, it’s Scotch. Not the drink I love, but a totally vegan, biodegradable nail polish! The color selection is fantastic, see for yourself.

Watch this Today Show spot
Bonus: They have a Kids Polish line. My sweet baby girl loves polish like her mommy, the down side, at 6 she can’t keep her fingers out of the mouth. Well if she eats this off- not so scary. Hopscotch Kids is vegan, gluten free and biodegradable.
Now the girls of the house can have their fashion and eat it too! Eco Chic rules.
