How to Hair at Alon Livne MBFW Spring 2014 and Paris Hilton

Nick Irwin, Tigi Global Director, gave this show the perfect blend of urban by using a masterful sectioning pattern of braids. The C curves gave the look a chic soft look you could easily where with a party dress or with the heat of the city will be a definite go to look to combat  frizz. It's the new version of Bo Derek in 10

The How to

via Beauty by SW

  • Using Fast Fixx Style Prep (this has been a long time favorite and core product
    for
TIGI®). Great product for eliminating frizzes -pre styling.
  • 5 sections were taken, the 1st was 4 fingers wide on the top and sectioned to the back (note all sections use the curve of the head. This is key to the softness of the look).
  • Key to the structural look is the next sections on either side of your head. Use the corner of the top outside plait and section in a C curve to the corner of the back braid. On each braid clear elastic was used.
  • To give the hair a high gloss TIGI® Weightless Shine Spray from the Catwalk® by TIGI was used. This is a wonderful product, it adds a thermal protection and tames the frizz.
  • One eliminate used to accent the sectioning on the braids was TIGI Cosmetics duo in Feisty, the white shimmer side was applied with great care by the TIGI Creative Team.

  • The final finish was done by @MrNickIrwin on all the models; you won't have his hands to finish your look, but here is how he did the bun. Gentle twist all the braids together into bun and secure with a large bobby pin.

How to Hollywood Wave Hair

Retro waves are no longer retro, they are timeless. Karen Angel is the queen of the wave. Here is her how to achieve the perfect, glossy wave. Like Kelly Brooke, English TV personality.

Step One:
Shampoo and condition your hair, with a smoothing product. Giti, one of Panache and Co.Salons Technical Directors Said; Use Tigi’s Urban Anti-dotes 2 Recovery. She loves the moisture it gives the hair.

Harpersbazaar.com

Step Two:
Towel dry by blotting and squeezing the hair so you don’t rough the cuticle up. Do Not rub dry the hair, it creates more frizz! Next apply Moroccan oil Treatment from the mid-lengths to ends to even out your hair’s porosity and add shine. A good mousse, Catwalks Strong Mousse is a favorite. Dry you hair with a medium round brush to create body in your hair, starting from the top and front of the head pinning each dry section into roller-like set as you go.

Step Three: Your favorite side is where your going to place in you glossy wave, ladies choice. Release the pined hair, use a 1in” curling iron, starting about 1” away from the scalp heat your two fingers wide section down to the ends to heat the hair up for a better hold. Go back to the base of your hair roll in and start to feed the hair around the barrel of the iron, hold for a count of 10, pin in a roll. Continue horizontal sections down your head, pinning after you curl. Allow your hair to cool then release your sections.

Now make a part using the corner of your eye as your guide, place your hair behind left ear to create a fall on the other side. Brush the curl side into smooth waves. Use a light spray that layers I use Session Series Work it spray. Hold out and mist, let it dry and mist again.

Results: Soft, Shiny and touchable hair.

How to: Get the 60'sVibe Make up

I obviously love vintage 60's  Daliah Lavi looks in The Silencer or Casino Royale, this is one of my all time favorite. So this is a How to for the Smokey eye effect my hip grandma wore in the 60’s with her suede bells and fringe vest. Pale lipped, strong creamy contrast and lashes are the order of day.

Face
Start recreating this look by prepping up your skin. Wash it well and put on some makeup primer to keep your skin healthy and make your makeup last longer.
Next, apply foundation and if needed, concealer. This look is very matte so we’d suggest using a foundation with a matte finish. I loved the Chanel Perfection lumiere. If you don’t have one available you can create that matte finish by setting your foundation with powder. How ever, depending on your age this can be aging. The powder settles in the creases. Trust me I know.

Brows
The eyebrows for this look are arched well but they’re not exactly well defined, this updates the retro look. You can achieve by taking some eye shadow and applying that to your brows with a brush. Tigi cosmetics make a great brow definers and its moisture proof. Use very light short strokes moving sideways to create that slightly fuzzy effect.
Eyes
Now it’s time to work on your lids and for this you will need one  matte eye shadow in black and the other one in black precision pen  is my choice, plus a good blending brush. Tigi and Mac brushes both are excellent choices. To get the very dramatic eyes this look features, start by taking the Precision pen eye liner and applying it quarter in at lash line to the outer corner. Next take the black eye shadow and apply it to the lowest part of your eye lid, taking up about 1/3 of your lids for blend a softening effect. You will see the slight difference between the two types of eye shadows.
Next, take your blending brush and start blending the line of the black eye shadow. This will create the gradation of hue. Line the under eye lid and blend for softness.
For the next step, you will need Vanilla high density shadow. Take a brush and create a line just below your lower lash line in the corner then over the lid, then from the black blended line up to the brows.

Rachel Zoe F/W 2012
Lashes
Curl your upper eye lashes and apply mascara to define them.
Cut the lash to fit lid and apply one set on the top extending out a bit and another on the lower lid making a slight triangle connection with the top lashes. This will give you a wider looking eye.
Contour
To make your features appear stronger, take a dark shade contour your cheeks by applying it right above your jaw line. Make sure you keep the apples of your cheeks free of any colour because the main focuses of this look are the eyes and lips.

Cara Delevingne dquared F/W 2012

Lips
If you want a soft version of this look, you can wear it with a lighter shade of matte lipstick with a hint of gloss in the center. It gives you a kissable pout look without looking to sticky.

How to : Haute Holiday Hairstyle

A glittery accessory adds whimsical romance to just about any hairstyle;
I of course forgot to wear one in this photo.

 Want to give it a whirl? Here’s a how-to

 1.  I applied Tigi's Session Series Styling Cream on damp- almost dry hair. Then gentle dried it into the hair using my fingers so as to retain body in my hair. Curl the hair all in one direction with a 1-inch Marcel iron, and pin with single prong clips and let it cool.

2. Comb the hair out completely with a good quality brush. I used a Mason Person brush, you can purchase at Nordstroms, but Denman works well and is gentle on the hair. The Denman on this link site is so cute I'm going to get myself one.

3. Using a styling comb and thin metal clips, depress the comb into the hair to create finger waves around the   face. Use the clips to enhance the ridges in the waves before spraying

4. To pin it back just loosely gather the hair and pin to secure. Try not to flat and mat it down, think fluffy.

5. Add in sparkly clips or broaches on one side of the head, above and behind the ear. Le Bel Age has some great sparkles and Forever 21

Till next time

Holiday How-to: Hair
images edited by panache beauty

Hair how-to: We see thousands of them, everywhere. Well a while ago I found this one on Martha Stewert Living. The Photo's are what sold me on the concept, absolutely breathtaking. I wasn’t a How to’er, until now. So you can look forward to many more in the future and possible some from the Panache and Co. Salon family

Once I have my hair done for my holiday party, I think I will schedule
an Air Brush Make up with Sabrina ,(I have to book it now to get in) - she’s the best. Her own make up is flawless everyday. Oh’ then I will have Laura give me a sparkly new nail look like the photo. Essie is a great polish. It’s very long lasting. Then it’s off for some holiday cheer. I just love, love, love this time of year don’t you?

So let me know what your holiday hair and make up plans are?
