Now Appearing @Sak's Fifth Ave. Dolce & Gabbana's Emerald Classic Lipstick

Dolce and Gabbana released this beautiful emerald green into their Classic Cream Lipsticks collection. Now this is not a color that just any ordinary human can wear, this emerald is for only the bravest of the fashion mavens in the world of rouge style. I could definitely see Vivienne Westwood or Pam Hogg wearing this jeweled tone beauty, hell I’m going to try it (in a subtler application of course).

Dolce & Gabbana use of opulence in their collections is a given, so should we be surprised or even shocked? I say no. I love that they’ve taken an old punk color and given it a renewed life. Pushing the boundaries of our imaginations and comfort levels are the only way we remain young at heart. This maybe the breakout you need from your style rut, so try on the most rich fabrics you can find in your closet and lay on the Dolce & Gabbana Emerald green Lipstick.

For those not ready to breakout, try emerald eye shadows. I thought this photo by Foam Magazine was a classic take on this lovely jeweled tone hue. TIGI has soft sea foam Long Wear Eye Shadow. To trust your fellow teammates as Karen Angel and the TIGI Creative Team does, is based in the knowing that the best of the best have come together from all over the world to make the production flawless.The backstage team work was inspirational for me. This Collage of photo is just a small glimpse of what a start to finish looks like. Each shape takes in excess of 3 plus hours to construct (and I thought I had patience when it took me 45mins to do my hair for our costume party).

How to Hair at Alon Livne MBFW Spring 2014 and Paris Hilton

Nick Irwin, Tigi Global Director, gave this show the perfect blend of urban by using a masterful sectioning pattern of braids. The C curves gave the look a chic soft look you could easily where with a party dress or with the heat of the city will be a definite go to look to combat  frizz. The How to

• Using Fast Fixx Style Prep (this has been a long time favorite and core product
  for TIGI®). Great product for eliminating frizzes -pre styling.
• 5 sections were taken, the 1^st was 4 fingers wide on the top and sectioned to the back (note all sections use the curve of the head. This is key to the softness of the look).
• Key to the structural look is the next sections on either side of your head. Use the corner of the top outside plait and section in a C curve to the corner of the back braid. On each braid clear elastic was used.
• To give the hair a high gloss TIGI® Weightless Shine Spray from the Catwalk® by TIGI was used. This is a wonderful product, it adds a thermal protection and tames the frizz. 
• One eliminate used to accent the sectioning on the braids was TIGI Cosmetics duo in Feisty, the white shimmer side was applied with great care by the TIGI Creative Team.

• The final finish was done by @MrNickIrwin on all the models; you won't have his hands to finish your look, but here is how he did the bun. Gentle twist all the braids together into bun and secure with a large bobby pin.

Tigi Global Creative Director, “Nick Irwin” definitely captured the true essence of the Ruffian Women in his interpretation of Lady Caroline Blackwood’s hairstyle for Ruffian Spring 2014 collection @ NYFW. Lady Blackwood was a free spirit and for a brief time one of Lucien Freud’s wives.

The Hudson Hotel is the pillow of choice for the Tigi Creative Team. The Hudson is my favorite because of the Gossip Girl episode where Blair is looking for – The Duchess-Have you seen the Duchess? She’s in the Library, (WARNING Sexy scene not recommend for children, Link at your own risk). This place has a great vignette feel to it and is very inviting.  If you’re wandering through the hotel it is loaded with fun, so be sure to explore. I love the Cows by Jean-Baptise Mondino and the fantastic job Philippe Starck did with the space. This hotel is not new by it feels new with the fashion week energy buzzing through the join.

Some of the hottest fashion blogger are staying during NYFW,@peaceloveshea and @kristin-bazan, my personal favorites. All this and just a skip away from Bouchon Bakery another must stop for soup and a cheese sando, then onto Whole foods for a fashion week must Kombucha. This drink is a life saver for the fashion week mayhem we throw ourselves into.

This is a personal favorite not just because it’s flirty but because of the versatility of the cut. If you like to wear your hair in different ways this cut allows you to achieve the sexiest of up styles to the edgiest smooth style looks that are the hot fashion of summer 2013.

How to get Adriana Lima or Miranda Kerr Sexy Hair

• Start by Spraying in a liberal amount of Tigi Bed head Queen for a Day Thickening Spray all over.
• This product is a firm holding but non sticky hair thickening product. It prevents dryness and make the hair have a shinny appearance
• Round brush dry your hair for volume (straight out from the section you are blow-drying) and transfer to med Velcro rollers to set.
• Dust the rollers with a light mist of Bed Head Masterpiece Shine Hairspray

This hairspray not only adds a great shine but it is humidity resistant and adds body that holds all day. Love this one for beach climate of San Diego

·         After you’ve applied your perfume, and clothing- drop the set turn your head upside down, shake it out and gentle run your fingers through the hair. Flip back up and reposition strays and give your hair a final mist of the Masterpiece Shine Hairspray to your Masterpiece.

The Tousled Hair of Alexa Chung- How you can get the look

The tousle hair crazy and how to get it.

 It starts with a Transient cut from the Tigi Classic collection.

 This Monday and almost every Monday Panache and co Salon has a day of education. This weeks cut is classic, versatile and all around fantastic for those who want to get that undone, easy look. If you would like to be a model for Panache’s Core Education day, email to www.panachesalon.com (subject model for the Transient Cut). 

The cuts are Free; it does require a pre consultation to see if your hair is suitable for the cut. 

The Alexa Chung undone hair how to:

1. shampoo with a hydration shampoo and conditioner, hydration is essential for frizz free hair.  Towel dry the hair well

2. add a ping pong ball size amount of Tigi Catwalk lightweight mousse throughout the hair. 

This is a wonderfully light product with great hold and frizz control. The hair feels natural not crunchy and gives great beach waves to the hair.

Start to dry the hair and when just a bit of moisture is left- take large circle sections and loosely twist into buns around the head (9 med size total). Now continue to dry on low heat and finish drying.

3. Put on your sun block and make up and when you’re done drop the twist buns and shake it loose

4. Next apply Tigi Reborn Hair spray. Love this product it smell like the beach and gives me soft by flexible hold. It does have UV protection and is light to med hold.

How to high ponytail with a wave and Prom Giveaway

•  Start by using Tigi’s Boost Root to give you height, and light mousse through the mid lengths to ends, then smooth with a medium round brush.

• Subdivide the hair into three sections (top of the head, middle section and top of the ears down to neck and set each subsection with curl using a 2-inch barrel iron, direct all your sections away from the face.
•  When the hair cools, clip away a triangle-shaped section on top. Gather all remaining hair into a high ponytail. Release the top section, backcomb or brushing using Session Series Transforming Dry spray, directing the hair back into the ponytail, and using your fingers to scrunch soften the hair, know secure it with hairpins at the base of the ponytail.

• Cover the elastic with a section of hair and lightly loosen up the ponytail by back brushing the hair with your fingers.

Spring 2013 Reality from Runway Hair

Karen Angel was off to the Bay Area for another Tigi Talent gig on styling. The class brings Nick Irwin's creative NYFW looks to local stylist and interprets the styling into reality for your clients. Karen was thrilled to be teaching this class as she was apart of Nick's NYFW team. 

Before she left for the Bay area she was busy practicing, putting together powerpoint presentations and  discussing how the Runway looks could  translate to everyday use. Karen says " The easy of the styles speak to the customers and it's our job to delivery what's fresh each season and that's the beauty of Mr. Nick Irwins runway looks, they deliver"

Spring Nail Polish to Brighten April Showers

Essie Resort 2013, hit stores in April and it’s no surprise to me that the colors are fantastic.

Essie has always been a favorite for me because of the long wear; it doesn’t chip in a day’s time. If you’re into nail art, it seems to dry quick and easily layers. Essie Nail polish range of colors is vast so I have a polish for all my moods. 

I’m not  into the Gel Nails because I enjoy changing my color to suit my suit, but for those of you who are, CND Gels has their ‘Sweet Dreams’ collection. The subtle difference is that their polish is not as true a color and has light shimmer to it.
